James Collins and Honora Collins lived in Lissane Lower, outside Drimoleague.

James may have been the son of Michael Collins (1790-1870) and Mary Donovan of Lissane Lower. His birth date is based on that assumption.

Besides James, Michael and Mary may have had Denis as well as sons John (1825); Humphrey (1831); Jerry (1835); Michael (1837) and daughters Margaret (1823); Catherine Collins Collins (1833-1918); possibly Jane (1840). There may have been another daughter, Nora Collins Hourihane (1824?-1913) but a baptism record for Nora has not been conclusively found.
