This lineage falls under R-CTS4466 > A5313

The 1901 Ireland census and the record of Michael's death, occurring shortly after that census, suggest he was born about 1822. Land records show Michael in Lissane Lower, Caheragh, Cork, Ireland during the famine, implicating he was the son of Humphrey Collins and Johanna Barnane of Lissane Lower.

However, there is no surviving baptism record of a Michael born to Humphrey and Johanna, who married in 1820. Nor do any relatives named Barnane show up on Michael's and Ellen's family records.

There is an appropriately-timed baptism record of a Michael born to a Humphrey Collins and Ellen Sweeney, who were in Blue Hill (Knockgorm) at the time of the baptism. NFI on the latter couple.

The major assumption made in research was that Michael's father was named Humphrey.
